Solid Orange Squad Visits La France Middle School

On Thursday, October 1, the Solid Orange Squad traveled to La France Middle School where a special group of students was introduced to the Be A T.I.G.E.R! program. Katrina Obas (swimming and diving), Patrick Jagielski (track and field) and former track and field athlete Darius Acker were greeted by a select group of five special young ladies.

The outing was different than most due to the small number of students, which allowed for a more intimate setting and an even greater opportunity to make an impact. The morning began with one-on-one sessions with the athletes where they shared their stories and discussed the character traits of the Be A T.I.G.E.R! program. Afterwards, the group reassembled and demonstrated the importance of T = Teamwork with a brief exercise.

The young ladies were extremely receptive and understood the goal of the exercise. The outing ended on a good note as the ladies displayed I = Integrity as they returned a pair of forgotten sunglasses to one of the Solid Orange Squad members.
