Rowing Opens Regular Season This Saturday

The Clemson Tiger rowing team will open its spring season this Saturday, March 8, at home on Lake Hartwell in a dual regatta against Michigan State.

The Tigers ended the 2002 season ranked 22nd nationally. This is the second consecutive top 25 finish for the Clemson rowing program in its four years. Michigan State finished ranked seventh in the nation in 2002.

The two teams faced each other in the Buckeye Invitational in April 2002. The Tigers defeated the Spartans in the First Novice 8+, while Michigan State defeated the Tigers in the Second Novice 8+, First and Second Varsity 4+, First Varsity 8+ and the Second Varsity 8+. Both teams also participated in the South/Central Region Championships.

Clemson rowing will compete next against Notre Dame and North Carolina at home on Wednesday, March 12 at 3 pm.
