Rosman Middle School Students Visit Clemson to Kick Off Tiger Talk! Program

Oct. 6, 2009

A select group of students from Rosman Middle School visited Clemson University on Tuesday, September 29 to kick off the Tiger Talk! program. The students were welcomed by Solid Orange Squad members who volunteered their time to teach the students about the Be A T.I.G.E.R.! program.

Darius Acker, a former member of the Clemson track and field team, opened the program with an inspirational speech promoting the importance of education. The students and athletes then broke up into small groups to discuss the traits of teamwork, integrity, gratitude, education and respect. After the discussions, SOS members gave the students an inside look at the athletic facilities. The tour included Death Valley, Littlejohn Coliseum, Jervey Gym and the McFadden team room.

Solid Orange Squad members who participated in the event were Darius Acker (former track and field athlete), Victoria Graham (rowing), Lydia Hassell (rowing), Michelle Nance (rowing) and Mairi Trimboli (rowing).
