Join President Barker on Saturday, April 3rd, in a race to benefit one of the University’s top priorities the Library. Run or walk the 5K course over rolling hills on the Clemson campus. This Palmetto Grand Prix event is USAFT certified with the finish line by RMS Sports using the ChampionChip Timing System. Registration begins at 7:15a.m. with race time at 8:30a.m. The race begins and ends behind the Cooper Library.
Entries postmarked by March 26th are $13 for ages 12 and under, $18 for all others. After March 26th and on race day the fee is $20 for all ages. Entry fees are nonrefundable. To register on-line go to www.clemson.edu/pres/race or for more information about race day activities.
Prizes will be awarded to overall male and female winners and three deep in the following age groups: 12 & under, 13-17, 18-26, 27-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-and over.
New for this year a “mini” book sale. The library will be selling a variety of hardbacks and paperbacks, mostly popular fiction and non-fiction. Prices are $2.00 for hardbacks and 50 for paperbacks. All proceeds will be used to purchase new materials for the library.
Also new for this year a free book for every child, 12 and under, who registers for the race. Children will receive their book at the race.
If you cannot make it to Clemson for the race…
Run by yourself or organize running partners in your town. Take a picture of you (and other participants) wearing your race shirt and send it to us by mail or e-mail. Clear pictures will be used on Alumni web pages and great pictures may appear in the Clemson World magazine. If you are participating as an Out-of-Town runner, contact Joy Van Daele, Library Development Officer at tdaele@clemson.edu or (864)656-0377. You must send in your registration and contact Joy by March 26th to receive your t-shirt in time to wear it on race day.
