No. 32 Men’s Tennis Falls To California, 4-3

BERKELEY, Calif. – 48th ranked California defeated 32nd ranked Clemson 4-3 in men’s tennis on Wedenesday night at the Hellman Tennis Center in Berkeley, CA. The two teams split the six singles matches, but California won two out of three doubles matches.

In singles, 47th ranked Josh Goffi, Marko Gojanovic, and Micah Thompson each won their match against the Bears. In doubles, Clemson’s 30th ranked duo of Gojanovic and Tomasz Boniecki picked up the only win for the Tigers. The 11th ranked team of Goffi and Darren Knight lost to the 15th ranked California team of Erik Dmytruk and Scott Kintz.

The loss was the fourth in a row for Clemson and dropped them to 12-8 on the year. With the win California improved to 6-3. Clemson’s next match will be at number-three ranked Stanford on Friday March 24 at 1:30 p.m.
