  • North Carolina begins the season 3-0 with victories over Cal Poly, San Louis, and VCU.
  • Head Coach Carlos Somoano enters his 15th season at the helm for the Tar Heels.
  • After finishing the 2015 season 15-2-3 and 6-1-1 in the ACC, UNC fell to Creighton in the second round of the NCAA, 1-0.
  • Carolina made its 23rd NCAA postseason appearance in 2015, and for the 16th time in the last 17 seasons. The Tar Heels have hosted one post- season match every season since 2000.
  • North Carolina’s 2016 signing class earned top honors by both College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer.
