CLEMSON, SC – Federico Nachmann and Kris Byrd both scored goals in leading N.C. State to a 2-0 victory over Clemson in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s soccer match at Clemson, SC Friday night.

N.C. State is now 5-7-1 overall and 1-4 in the ACC. Clemson falls to 4-6-2 overall and 2-3-1 in league play.

The Wolfpack scored first at the 70:41 mark as Federico Nachmann collected a errant pass and scored his third goal of the season.

N.C. State scored again with 4:13 left in the match. Kris Byrd dribbled down the right and fired a shot from eight yards out for his first goal of the year.

“I was disappointed in the play of our forwards,” said Clemson Head Coach Trevor Adair. “Our defenders played great, but we got to find a way to score. It is very frustrating. We must improve our play in the final one-third.”

Clemson goalkeeper Joseph Bendik had 10 saves on the night. Christopher Widman of N.C. State had four saves.

Clemson will play at Furman on Tuesday, October 14, in Greenville, SC in the Tigers’ next action.
