Morris Leads Tigers’ Distance Group at Mt. SAC Relays

TERRANCE, Calif. – Sophomore Logan Morris moved into No. 7 all-time in the Clemson record books after finishing the women’s 5000m run in 16:26.35 at the Mt. SAC Relays Friday. Morris, who previously ranked 10th in CU history in the event, shaved nearly 30 seconds off her previous best in just her second career 5000m run outdoors.

Senior Grace Barnett, the programs 1500m record holder, posted a fifth-place finish in the event Friday. Barnett recorded a time of 4:18.47 – her season best.

In tightly contested men’s 3000m steeplechase, junior James Quattlebuam nabbed his season best time of 8:55.73. Quattlebuam, who placed second at the Texas Relays in the 3000m steeplechase with a then-season best time of 8:56.13, placed 17th overall Friday.

At the Mt. SAC Relays Thursday evening, junior Elizabeth Dawson registered her PR in the women’s 10,000m race. Dawson crossed the finish line in 35:27.36, which is good for ninth all-time in program history. Joining Dawson in the Clemson record book, was sophomore Erin McLaughlin after her first career 10,000m race. McLaughlin recorded a time of 36:01.72, which is good for 10th in program history.
