Miyamoto Finishes 10th in ACC Indoor Pentathlon

Blacksburg, VA – Clemson sophomore Renata Miyamoto finished 10th overall in the pentathlon at the 2006 ACC Indoor Championships on Thursday. Along the way, she totaled 3,392 points and set season bests in three events. The winner of the event was Gunild Kreb of Virginia Tech with 4,009 points.

In the 60m hurdles, Miyamoto clocked a time of 8.75 to finish third overall out of the 19 competitors. She gained 963 points in that event alone. In the high jump, she cleared 4’8.75″. In the shot put, she topped her season-best with a throw of 28’3.5″. She set a season-best in the long jump with a mark of 18’1.5″. Miyamoto was fourth in the final event of the pentathlon, the 800m, with a time of 2:27.24. That was also a season-best time in that event.

The running events and field events for the ACC Indoor Championships will begin Friday, with the Lady Tigers’ first competition coming in the 60m hurdles at 2:35 PM.
