CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson men’s swimming team was rewarded for its late-season surge, as the Tigers were voted into the top 25 poll by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
Clemson is currently tied with South Carolina for 25th place, as both programs picked up 41 votes. The Tigers were one of two schools to join the poll this week, along with Penn State.
“I am proud of the men’s swimming and diving program, their commitment to team goals, and their national level of competitiveness,” Head Coach Christopher Ip said. “First, we had the national ranking of 22nd for team academics and now a top 25 national dual meet team ranking. I am confident that this will spurn our swimmers to push themselves even harder next week when they represent Clemson at the NCAA Championships in Minnesota.”
The Clemson men’s program is coming off of a monumental string of performances at the ACC Championships from February 23-26, in which numerous school records were broken and a pair of individual titles were won. Four swimmers – Seth Broster, Eric Bruck, Chris Dart, and Chris Reinke – have qualified to compete in the NCAA Championships. That meet will begin on Thursday, March 24 and end on Saturday, March 26.
