Sept. 23, 2005

Clemson will travel to Cary, NC on Saturday to take part in the third edition of the Great American Cross Country Festival. The Tigers will be one of 15 men’s teams vying for the 8K Nike Race of Champions. Also participating in the event will be Abilene Christian, Central Michigan, Charlotte, Duke, Georgia, North Carolina, N.C. State, Northern Kentucky, Richmond, Stephen F. Austin, U.S. Military Academy, Virginia, Wake Forest, and William & Mary.

Head Coach Itay Magidi and Matt Clark, both all-region performers last season, will lead the talented group this weekend. Clark won the Clemson Invitational two weekends ago. Brian Soder, a sophomore from Erie, PA, ran well in that event as he finished sixth overall with a time of 25:30. His brother, Eric, will also be making the trip this weekend for Clemson.

Also making the trip this weekend will be Clay Pendleton, Greg Isaacs, Sean Reilly, Jay Lumpkins, Sam Bryfczynski, and Bryce Iverson. The Tigers look for a strong performance before heading to the Pre-NCAA Meet in Terre Haute, IN on October 15.
