Leggett, Crowder Honored by ACC

Clemson, S.C.—Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett and guard Tyrone Crowder were both named ACC Player of the Week on Monday.   Leggett was named the top receiver and Crowder the top offensive lineman. It was the first player of the week honor for each player.

Leggett had five receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown in Clemson’s 37-34 win over No. 12 Florida State on Saturday.   The yardage total was the most ever by a Clemson tight end and it was just the fifth 100-yard receiving game by a Clemson tight end. Leggett has two of those five 100-yard games and both have come against Florida State.

The senior had 70 of his 122 yards on Clemson’s winning touchdown drive in the fourth period. He culminated the drive when he caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson with just 2:06 left.   Leggett also received a 91 percent blocking grade from Clemson coaches.

Crowder was Clemson’s highest rated offensive lineman in terms of blocking grade. The junior played 70 snaps and had a career high 94 percent grade to go with four knockdown blocks. He did not allow a sack and was a big reason Clemson gained 378 yards passing and 512 yards of total offense.
