Leah Perri Named ACC Volleyball Freshman of the Week

CLEMSON, SC – Rightside hitter Leah Perri has been named the ACC Freshman Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. It is the second such honor for Perri, who last earned it earlier for her play Oct. 7-13.  Perri matched a career-high 14 kills in each of Clemson’s two matches this past weekend, and reached new highs in terms of attempts, with 36, on Friday night against Virginia Tech.  Perri becomes the first Clemson player to earn the award twice in a season since Hannah Brenner in 2010. Brenner found Perri 28 times in two matches as the Richland, MI native hit .302 for the week, averaging 2.8 kills per set. She also added three blocks in each match.  For the season, Perri is second on the team with 219 kills and a 2.35 kills per set average. She leads the squad with a .289 hitting percentage and her 59 blocks are third on the team. In ACC play, she’s averaging 2.46 kills per set and hitting .301. Additionally, her 14-kill 0-error performance against Notre Dame remains the best by any ACC player this season.
