Lady Tigers Travel to Virginia Tech Invitational This Weekend

The Clemson women’s track & field team will travel to Blacksburg, VA to compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday. This meet will mark the second of the indoor season for the Lady Tigers and first since the Clemson Opener on December 2-3.

The event gets underway Friday, January 13 at 5:00 PM from the Rector Field House. Competing for Clemson in the 60m hurdles will be Renata Miyamoto. Thea Dix, Patrice McMillan, and Casey Phillips. The “B” team will be made up of Lauren Marriott, Ashley Robinson, and Sobanjo.

Friday’s field events will start with the pole vault and weight throw at 5:00 PM. Competing in the pole vault for the Lady Tigers will be Beth Jordan and Krissy Thompson. In the weight throw, Clemson will feature four competitors (Della Clark, Krystal Woods, Rochelle Kokayko, and Catheryne Porter).

Competing in the triple jump on Friday from Clemson will be Michelle Rogers and Miyamoto, while newcomer Katie Farnan will perform in the high jump for the Lady Tigers to wrap up field event action on the first day.

Michelle Rogers, Tonya Nwankwo, and Charmayne Smith will compete in the long jump. Clark and Allison Bradshaw are entered in the shot put for Clemson on Saturday as well.

The Lady Tigers will have two relay teams entered in the 3200m and one in the 1600m to conclude the meet on Saturday afternoon.
