Clemson’s women’s basketball team will travel to Tallahassee, FL in search of its first road win since the Lady Tigers defeated Wagner on December 16. Clemson has lost eight straight games, including a heartbreaking 87-82 defeat to #20 Maryland on Sunday. The Lady Tigers have lost their last six road games. The game between Clemson and Florida State is set for 7:00 PM Wednesday from the Donald Tucker Center.
Clemson is 7-14 on the season, 1-8 in ACC play. The Lady Tigers’ five-point loss to Maryland brought about many team and individual highs. Clemson shot 47.1 percent from the field, including 10-21 from three-point range, both of which are season highs. The Lady Tigers scored 50 second-half points, the second-highest such total of the season.
Reggie Maddox had 17 points following a scoreless first half against Maryland. She leads the Clemson team at 9.8 points per game, and also leads the squad in assists (75) and steals (39). She set a career-high with five thefts against the Terrapins.
D’Lesha Lloyd hit 4-6 from three-point range on Sunday and led Clemson with 18 points. In fact, she leads the Lady Tigers with 12.8 points per game during ACC competition. She is at 9.4 points per game overall.
Julie Talley hit 3-4 from three-point range Sunday and now has 92 made three-point baskets for her career. She ranks seventh in Clemson history in that category, and is two shy from tying Nuria Forns for sixth place on the list. Talley had 15 points at North Carolina last week.
In the post, Amanda White recovered from a sub-par outing at North Carolina. The 6-4 junior had 15 points on 7-9 shooting. She hit her first seven shots from the field and finished the game against Maryland with nine rebounds. She leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 per game.
Florida State carries a 19-5 record coming into Wednesday’s matchup. The Seminoles, now 5-4 in the league, downed Clemson 68-57 in Littlejohn Coliseum earlier this season. Florida State ended the game on a 20-8 run to put the game away.
Roneeka Hodges ranks third in the ACC in scoring at 18.9 points per game and is a favorite for the All-ACC team this year. She also averages 5.7 rebounds per game. Hodges had 24 points in the game played at Clemson.
Alicia Gladden and Ganiyat Adeduntan also average in double figures for the Seminoles at 12.0 and 11.0 points per game, respectively. Gladden is the ACC’s leader in steals per game with 3.38 every contest.
