Lady Tigers To Face Chattanooga In First Road Test

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s basketball team will face its first road test of the 2007-08 season on Saturday night. The Lady Tigers (2-1) will travel to Chattanooga, TN to take on the Lady Mocs (1-1) at McKenzie Arena. The teams are slated for a 7:00 pm tip-off.

Sophomore Lele Hardy is averaging a double-double this season with 11.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. She also owns a team-best 18 assists and has recorded 12 steals so far this season. In last year’s contest against Chattanooga, the native of Spartanburg, SC pulled down 10 boards and led the Lady Tigers with five assists. Christy Brown (12.7) and Whitney Hood (11.7) are also averaging in double figures for Clemson this season, while Hood ranks second on the team with 24 rebounds on the year.

Scouting The Lady Mocs The Lady Mocs are coming off of a week-long break and will be playing their first home game of the season on Saturday night. Chattanooga won a 64-50 decision at Austin Peay on Nov. 9 before falling to Tennessee, 76-55, in Knoxville on Nov. 11.

Alex Anderson is averaging 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game to lead the Lady Mocs. She also owns team-bests with six blocked shots and six steals in Chattanooga’s two games so far this season. Jenaya Wade-Fray has knocked down six three-pointers as the Lady Mocs have already hit 15 in 2007-08.

Clemson vs. Chattanooga, The Series The Lady Tigers and Lady Mocs will be meeting for the eighth time in history on Saturday night. Clemson owns a slight 4-3 advantage in the series that dates back to 1982. However, Chattanooga defeated the Lady Tigers last season and has won the only match-up on its home court.
