Lady Tigers Conclude Day Two of Clemson Opener

Final Stats

Clemson, SC – The freshman class of 2006-07 helped the Lady Tigers finish strong for the Clemson Opener at the indoor track facility on Saturday. Caroline Kennedy posted a runner-up finish in the pole vault, while Kristine Scott was fifth in the 60m to highlight day two for the Lady Tigers.

With a time of 7.67, newcomer Kristine Scott placed fifth overall in the finals for the 60m dash while teammate Ra’Sheena Parker, a sophomore from Central, SC tied for 14th with a time of 7.77. Scott and Michaylin Golladay (Upper Marlboro, MD) led the Lady Tigers in the 200m dash. Scott finished seventh with a time of 25.21, while Golladay finished 12th with a time of 25.43. Polly Hardy (25.70), Sierra Hill (25.82), and Ra’Sheena Parker (26.02) also competed in the 200m for Clemson on Saturday.

Ope Sobanjo finished sixth out of 47 competitors in the 400m dash with a time of 57.92 which replaced her previous personal best of 1:01.12. Hardy, a junior from Anderson, SC, placed seventh with a time of 8.93 in the 60m high hurdles during the finals on Saturday.

Anastasia Wilson, another freshman, and Katie Farnan, a sophomore from Douglasville, GA, tied for ninth in the high jump with a mark of 5’3″. Farnan tied her personal indoor best in the event. Emily Barlage (5’1″), a newcomer from Dover, PA, also competed in the high jump for the Lady Tigers.

In the triple jump competition, Michelle Rogers placed third overall with a mark of 39’1″. Freshman Nakeisha Wineglass (39’5″) finished seventh overall while Wilson finished with a mark of 37’3.75″.

Three Lady Tigers participated in the pole vault finals, with freshman Caroline Kennedy finishing second overall with a mark of 11’5.75”. Beth Jordan, a senior from Aiken, SC, placed fourth with a mark of 11’5.75″, while Helen Kirkland placed sixth with a new personal best of 11’5.75”. Her previous personal best was 10’6”.

The Lady Tigers return to competition on January 12-13 at the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, KY.
