Lady Tiger Swimming & Diving Has Record Breaking First Morning

Minneapolis, MN- The Clemson Women’s Swimming and Diving team completed their first morning at the NCAA Championships Thursday in Minneapolis, MN.

The 200 freestyle relay of Rachel Regone, Lauren Sindall, Michelle Parkhurst, and Kallie Deters highlighted the first session as they re-broke the school record in the event. The quartet sprinted to a time of 1:31.00, improving the record that was set at the ACC Championships by nine one-hundredths of a second.

The Lady Tigers just missed scoring in the event as the top 16 come back to swim in the finals. Clemson was the top ACC team in the relay, beating out Florida State who finished 19th. In individual competition, Regone (22.97) placed 37th in the 50 freestyle. Sindall (23.45), Deters (23.52), and Parkhurst (23.90) finished 64th, 69th, and 72nd in the event.
