INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Junior Kyle Shoemaker competed Tuesday at the 2009 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships and World Championship Trials. He swam the 100-meter breaststroke to finish 27th overall with a long course time of 1:04.93. The top 24 swimmers for each event move on to the finals that will be held later on tonight.

Shoemaker cut six seconds off of his previous long course best time. This time sits eighth in Clemson history when converted to short-course yards with a time of 55.58, which is .72 seconds off of his best short course time of 54.86.

“Kyle has been working really hard and staying healthy,” says Assistant Coach Lance Asti. “His hard work and dedication has paid off. He has been minding Chris and my philosophy and that has helped him improve and perform well at this level.”
