John Hinson Rated #50 Among 2011 College Baseball Players by CollegeBaseballDaily.com

Junior infielder John Hinson was rated as the #50 college baseball player in the nation for the 2011 season by CollegeBaseballDaily.com on Wednesday. The Asheville, NC native batted .351 with 17 home runs, 75 RBIs, 60 runs, and a team-high 25 stolen bases in 67 games (57 starts) in 2010. He was second in the ACC in steals, fourth in RBIs, and tied for sixth in homers in 2010.

In the 2010 NCAA Tournament, Hinson was 21-for-44 (.477) with five homers, one double, one triple, 13 RBIs, 13 runs, four walks, and nine multi-hit games in 11 contests. His 21 hits set a school record for hits in a single NCAA Tournament, while he was named Auburn (AL) Regional MVP and helped the Tigers advance to the College World Series with their Clemson Super Regional title. Then in Omaha, Hinson was named to the All-College World Series team by going 7-for-16 (.438) in four games. Hinson was also drafted in the 13th round by the Philadelphia Phillies this past summer.
