Greenville, S.C. — Incoming freshman Alexis Holliday has been named the 2019-20 All Upstate Female Athlete of the Year as announced by the Greenville News on Friday morning. Last year at Liberty High School, Holliday lettered in three sports, football, basketball and soccer. Holliday signed her National Letter of Intent to row for Clemson in November 2019.
“I am very honored and humbled to be considered for this award and even more so to be selected as the recipient of this award,” commented Holliday.
“We celebrate with Alexis and her family upon hearing that she won this award,” said Head Coach Stephen Frazier Wong. “I’m sure that, with all the effort she has put in over the years, it is no surprise to her loved ones that she would receive such recognition. Her competitive nature and drive to succeed was evident to all of the coaches when we first got to know her. Thankfully for us, Alexis also has a deep love for Clemson and we know she will give it her best to earn the right to wear the Paw in collegiate competition. We are also excited that Alexis is just one member of a stellar freshman class that is chomping at the bit to get on campus and make their mark here at Clemson.”
