Hester, Land to Compete at NCAA Indoor Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Tiger track & field program has sent Tevin Hester and Mimi Land to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Albuquerque, N.M. The national indoor meet is held at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Hester is competing in the men’s 60 dash, while Land is entered in the high jump and triple jump.

Hester owns a personal best 6.60 from earlier this season at the Armory Collegiate in New York City. The sophomore out of Oxford, N.C. won the silver medal in the event at the ACC Indoor Championships at home two weeks ago. Hester was a first-team All-American in the event last winter, placing seventh in the final. The semifinals are set for 9:25 p.m. ET Friday, with the final on Saturday at 9 p.m.

Land gets started with the high jump at 5:30, followed by the triple jump at 8 on Saturday. She qualified with All-ACC performances in both events two weeks ago. She produced personal bests in both, a 42’9.5″ triple jump and 6’0″ high jump. She ranks in the top five in school history in both as well. Land was a second-team outdoor All-American as a freshman in 2013.
