HALFTIME: #8 Louisville 39, Clemson 21

Kelly’s 3 Point Stance:

  1. Record Setter: With her two made free throws at the 8:30 mark in the first half, senior Nikki Dixon became Clemson’s all time leader in free throws made. She has made 416 free throws in her career, and counting.
  2. Stealing the Show: The Tigers recorded six steals in the first half of play and forced Louisville into eight turnovers.
  3. Lock Down on the Perimeter: Clemson held Louisville to only two three point field goals in the first half of action.

Fun Fact of the First Half:The last time Clemson played Louisville (Dec. 22, 1993), 11 out of the 13 Tigers were not even born.

Keys to Victory:

  1. Louisville scored 24 out of their 39 first half points in the paint. The Tigers needs to pack it in on defense and try to force the Cardinals to take more outside shots.
  2. Clemson allowed Louisville’s pressure to rattle them resulting in 12 Tiger turnovers. Clemson needs to take better care of the ball in the second half, especially when the Cardinals attempt to trap the ball screen.
  3. The Tigers have got to get Nikki Dixon involved on the offensive end in the second half. Dixon only scored two points in the first half and her first shot attempt did not come until 11:48 into the game.
