GREENSBORO, NC – Clemson women’s track and field junior Gisele Oliveira was named ACC Indoor Track and Field Women’s Co-Performer of the Week as announced by the conference office Wednesday evening. Oliveira shared this week’s honor with North Carolina’s Laura Gerraughty.
Oliveira posted her second automatic qualifying mark of the season in the triple jump as she placed first in the event at the Clemson Invitational with a leap of 43’9.75″. The Porto Alegre, Brazil native earned her second first-place finish of the weekend as she posted a season-best and provisional qualifying mark of 20’8.5″ in the long jump competition. She is Clemson’s all-time leader in the triple jump and ranks third on the Lady Tigers’ all-time list in the long jump.
Oliveira is the second Lady Tiger to earn ACC Women’s Performer of the Week honors. Silja Ulfarsdottir earned the accolade on Jan. 19. The Lady Tiger track and field team returns to action this weekend as Clemson hosts the Heptathlon and Pentathlon Championships.
