Friday’s season opener against the University of Georgia serves as the official grand reopening of Littlejohn Coliseum. The home of Tiger Basketball since 1968, the facility recently completed a $63.5 million renovation after a 16-month process.
The new arena features a completely rebuilt seating bowl and concourse, a 10,000 square foot Burton Gallery main entrance area, premium seating both courtside and at the midcourt level, as well as operational areas for both men’s and women’s basketball inside Swann Pavilion, an area that includes coaches offices, a practice gym, weight room, athletic training room, film rooms, locker rooms and player amenities.
Some of Friday’s planned activities and highlights include:
• Orange carpet at the two Burton Gallery gates• Photo backdrop in Burton Gallery as gates open• Local band playing at the Southeast corner (IPTAY and ticket office side) of the facility beginning at 4 p.m.• Searchlights located outside the arena• Gif generator at the student gate• Rally towels located on all 9,000 seats, embroidered with the new Littlejohn Coliseum• T-shirts located in the student section, embroidered with the name of the contest-winning section name• Unveiling of the Littlejohn Lights• Unveiling of new pregame hype and starting lineup videos• Halftime performance by legendary act Red Panda
Clear Bag Policy
Littlejohn Coliseum will institute a clear bag policy, similar to the one used this season in Memorial Stadium for home football games. Click HERE to view what items are and are not permissible.
We have enhanced WiFi throughout the arena, and eduroam has been bolstered to support all students in attendance. We also encourage you to download our newly launched official app on iTunes or Google Play which features up-to-date information and some fun interactive pieces you’ll see in action Friday night.
