Four Tigers Rated Among Top-100 Prospects for 2012 Draft by Baseball America

CLEMSON, SC – Richie Shaffer (#13), Kevin Brady (#41), Scott Firth (#73), and Spencer Kieboom (#84) were all rated among the top-100 prospects for the 2012 Major League draft, announced by Baseball America. Shaffer, a junior corner infielder from Charlotte, NC, was the highest-rated Tiger after hitting .315 with a team-high 13 homers and 55 RBIs in 2011.

Brady, a junior righthander from Gaithersburg, MD, had a 2-0 record and 3.86 ERA in 23.1 innings pitched in 2011, but was limited due to injury. Firth, a junior righthander from Buffalo Grove, IL, had a 5-1 record and 3.06 ERA in 50.0 innings pitched in 2011, while Kieboom, a junior catcher from Marietta, GA, hit .282 with one homer and 31 RBIs along with his outstanding defensive prowess behind the plate in 2011.
