Media Day
Just like before the Orange Bowl, the Tiger players and coaches met with the media for one hour on Media Day. It was a free-for-all downtown at the Phoenix Convention Center, as there were scores of national media members interviewing the Tigers. One difference is that fans could sit in bleachers and watch the spectacle.
Many players were able to take a picture with the national championship trophy, while others were interviewed live on the ESPN family of networks.
Stadium Visit
The buses departed Media Day and made the trek westward to University of Phoenix Stadium, where the Tigers saw where they will battle the Crimson Tide in two days.
When the team walked into the stadium, it was as chilly inside as it was outside because the roof was open. Crews were busy painting the field and making last-minute preparations.
The staff corralled the players for the team picture, and after a few camera snaps, head coach Dabo Swinney talked to the team for five minutes about soaking in the moment.
After the players walked back onto the field for some position pictures, they checked out their locker room before getting back on the buses to return to the team hotel.
Season’s Final Practice
Clemson held its final practice of the 2015 season at Scottsdale Community College. With blue skies and a relentless sun beating down, the Tigers went through 10 periods.
Former Tigers Brentson Buckner (1990-93) and C.J. Spiller (2006-09) were on the sideline to take in practice. Buckner coaches the defensive linemen for the Arizona Cardinals, who play their first playoff game at home next weekend.
