Cross Country Opens Season at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. — The Clemson cross country team competed for the first time this season on Friday morning at the Kennesaw State Opener. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished second overall, both behind Georgia Tech.

Freshmen shined for the Tigers at the meet, with Sawyer Dagan finishing fourth overall amongst the men and Fabiane Meyer coming in second in the women’s race. Meyer was only 6.63 seconds behind the winner.

Courtney Farishian, Leah Disher, Josie Wirtz and Makenzie Steele rounded out the scorers for Clemson, while Jackson Leech and Sam Garringer finished neck and neck at sixth and seventh for the men.

The Tigers next meet is on Friday, Sept. 17 at the Florida State XC Open.
