Crosby, Kelly Doubtful For Furman

Crosby, Kelly Doubtful For Furman

Sept. 5, 2003

Clemson football coach Tommy Bowden said Thursday after practice that wide receiver Roscoe Crosby and running back Yusef Kelly might not play in Saturday’s game with Furman. Crosby, who played against Georgia in the season opener, has missed the last three days of practice due to family issues. Bowden said after practice that he would not pressure him to return and that Crosby was free to return to the team when the issues were resolved.

Kelly suffered a back injury in practice on Wednesday and is doubtful to play against Furman according to team athletic trainer Danny Poole. Kelly was at practice in uniform on Thursday and ran on the sidelines, but did not go through any plays.

Bowden did not reveal any lineup changes when speaking to the media on Thursday. He planned to meet with his staff to make final decisions on his starting lineup on Friday and during the day on Saturday.

The Clemson vs. Furman game will kick off at 5:00 PM on Saturday afternoon at Death Valley. Tickets are available at $27 apiece. An $8 ticket for students high school age and under will be on sale at the stadium beginning at 3:00 PM on Saturday.
