Position: Defensive Player Development/Assistant Safeties Coach
Nolan Turner is entering his first full season on Clemson’s support staff as a defensive player development assistant and assistant safeties coach in 2024.
Turner was a standout safety at Clemson from 2016-21, accruing 259 tackles (13.5 for loss), 20 pass breakups, seven interceptions, 3.0 sacks and two forced fumbles over 65 career games with 25 starts. He was part of five ACC title squads, five College Football Playoff berths, three national title game appearances and two national championships during his playing career.
Turner signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a college free agent in 2022 and played in five games for the organization that season. Upon his departure from the Bucs in August 2023, he returned to Clemson intermittently during the 2023 season before electing to pursue coaching full-time time in 2024.
Turner earned his bachelor’s degree in financial management in 2020 and added a master’s in athletic leadership in 2021. His brother, Cole, is a redshirt sophomore on Clemson’s 2024 squad.
