McClain Kessler

McClain Kessler enters his first season with the Clemson men’s tennis program its volunteer assistant coach. Kessler, who is currently ranked in 1563 in the ITF World Pro rankings, is a 2019 graduate of the University of Florida.

During his four-year tenure with the Gators, Kessler went 82-36 in singles and 65-43 in doubles matches. In addition to serving as captain in his senior season season, Kessler helped the team to top-10 finishes in three seasons and a final four result in 2019. From Calhoun, Ga., Kessler earned numerous accolades during his college career including a 2018 All-American in doubles, the 2018 SEC Community Service Award, the 2018 Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship award for the south region, the 2018 Rafael Osuna Award for Sportsmanship and a 2017 SEC Community Service award.

“I am incredibly excited to welcome McClain Kessler to Clemson as our new Volunteer Assistant Coach,” said Tigers Head Coach Robbie Weiss. “McClain is an outstanding person first and foremost and will be a huge asset to our program. McClain played at the University of Florida for four years and was instrumental in the success of the program. He was a leader on and off the court and was a role model for all college tennis players in the way he brought energy, passion and toughness to the courts every day. We are thrilled to welcome McClain to Clemson.”
