Clemson’s Van Adrichem To Compete At ITA National Indoor Championships

Nov. 2, 2005

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson women’s tennis player Federica van Adrichem will begin singles competition at the 2005 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, hosted by The Ohio State University, on Thurdsay, Nov. 3. The Tiger freshman will face sixth-seeded and 11th-ranked Cristelle Grier of Northwestern in first round action at The Racquet Club of Columbus in Columbus, OH.

Van Adrichem earned a bid to the 2005 event by winning the ITA Southeast Regional singles title on Oct. 17. She was just the second Clemson women’s tennis player in history to capture the regional championship. Former standout Julie Coin claimed the crown in 2002, which was her first year with the program. Coin then reached the second round of the ITA National Indoor tournament.

The Amersfoort, Netherlands native boasts a 9-2 record for the fall season and has posted victories over three ranked opponents so far this year.
