Clemson’s Phil Marfuggi honored by Soccer America

CLEMSON, SC–Clemson’s Phil Marfuggi was named to the Soccer America National Team of the Week as announced by the magazine Wednesday.

Marfuggi had 11 saves in the 0-0 tie with Old Dominion to give the unbeaten Tigers the Old Dominion Tournament title. In the other match in the tournament, Marfuggi had five saves in Clemson’s 3-2 overtime win over William and Mary. For his performance in the tournament, he was named the MVP.

Clemson will play Maryland in College Park, MD on Friday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m. in an Atlantic Coast Conference match.
