GREENSBORO, NC – Kyle Parker was tabbed ACC Player of the Week after helping the Tigers complete a series sweep in conference play over the weekend. The league recognition is a career first for the freshman.
Parker went 5-for-10 with five runs scored, two doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI and three walks to help lead Clemson to a three-game sweep of Virginia Tech last weekend. The Jacksonville,Fla., product also posted a 1.600 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage in the series against the Hokies. In Saturday’s 8-7 win, he went 3-for-4 with a double, two homers and five RBI, including the game-winning three-run homer in the eighth inning. Parker is the first Tiger to garner player of the week accolades this season.
Clemson returns to the diamond for a three-game series this weekend. The Tigers will play host to Florida State in the last home series of the regular season. Saturday’s game will be televised on RSN at 7 p.m., while Sunday and Monday’s meetings are set to air on CSS at 7 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
