Clemson’s Craig Thomas Qualifies for Speedo National Diving Championships

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson’s Craig Thomas competed in the Senior National Diving Prequalification meet in Dallas, TX on July 11-14. The Tiger senior scored 466.40 points to qualify for the Speedo National Diving Championships in the three-meter event.

Thomas was named to the All-ACC Men’s Swimming and Diving team in 2000 and 2001. In 2001, Thomas placed second in the one-meter at the ACC Championships. At the 2002 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships, he finished third in the three-meter. He also represented the Tigers at the NCAA Zone-B Championships where he finished 17th in the three-meter competition and 19th in the one-meter event. This was the second consecutive season that Thomas qualified for NCAA Zone competition.

Thomas will travel to the Senior National Championships in Dallas, TX on July 22-27 where he will compete against many of the nation’s top divers for a spot on the 2002 U.S. National Diving Team.
