Clemson’s Ashley Phillips named a preseason All-American by Soccer America

CLEMSON, SC–Clemson junior goalkeeper Ashley Phillips was named a preseason All-American by Soccer America magazine.

Phillips was named second team All-ACC last season and was a starter in 19 matches. She finished the year with a 1.37 goals allowed average and had 93 saves. She was named to the NSCAA All-Southeast Region First team in 2005.

Clemson will start its 2006 season Friday night as the Lady Tigers play host to Alabama-Birmingham at 7:00 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.
