Clemson Women’s Track & Field Fifth After Day One of ACC Outdoor Meet

Winston-Salem, NC – Clemson’s women’s track & field team stands in a tie for fifth after the first of three days of competition at the ACC Outdoor Championships held at Kentner Stadium on the Wake Forest campus. The Lady Tigers tallied 13 points on day one, led by Della Clark’s All-ACC performance in the hammer throw. It was her first outdoor All-ACC honor and third overall as a Lady Tiger.

Clark finished in third place in the hammer with a personal best toss of 185’4″, also the season-best for the Clemson team. The throw, which was a regional-qualifying mark, ranks second in school history. Clark is the first Lady Tiger to earn All-ACC honors in the hammer throw since Jamine Moton in 2002.

Krystal Woods, who was seventh with a toss of 169’4″. Catheryne Porter also competed in the event and threw 141’9″.

Beth Jordan just missed scoring for the Lady Tigers after she cleared 11’3.75″. Krissy Thompson also competed in the event for Clemson.

The competition will resume Friday for the Lady Tigers in the long jump at 2:00 PM.
