Clemson Women’s Track And Field Records Six NCAA Qualifying Marks

ATLANTA, GA – Five individuals and the Clemson women’s track and field team’s 4x100m relay team qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships this weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Cydonie Mothersill, Shekera Weston, Michelle Burgher, Kyana Elder and Jamine Moton all surpassed the NCAA qualifying standards in their events this weekend.

Mothersill recorded an automatic qualifying time of 23.04 in the 200m dash, winning the event over teammate Weston, who finished with a provisional time of 23.31. Burgher finished seventh in the 400m dash with a provisional qualifying time of 53.41. Elder provisionally qualified in the 100m hurdles with a second-place time of 13.44. Moton recorded an automatic qualifying mark of 55’7″ in the shot put, claiming the event. Clemson’s 4x100m relay team won their event with a season-best automatic qualifying time of 43.88.

Shannon Murray competed in the 100m dash and recorded a time of 12.18 in the preliminaries. Marcia Smith and LaShonda Cutchin finished 13th and 17th in the 400m dash, with times of 54.53 and 55.20, respectively. Nyjla Littlejohn posted a ninth place finish with a time of 59.64. Mandy McLane cleared 11’9 3/4″ in the pole vault to finish 11th overall.
