Clemson Women’s Soccer Team to Open 2010 Season at Home Friday Night

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson women’s soccer team will open the 2010 season on Friday night as it plays host to Presbyterian College. The game between the Tigers and the Blue Hose is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM at Historic Riggs Field. Admission is free for all home women’s soccer games.

Clemson returns 11 letterwinners and welcomes 12 newcomers for the 2010 season. Sophomore forward Callie Cavanaugh, Emily Tatum and junior Ashlynne Bass.

The 2009 season marked the first regular season meeting between Clemson and Presbyterian College. The Tigers won the September 20 matchup against the Blue Hose by a score of 3-0 at Riggs Field, with Elder netting two goals in the contest.

After facing the Blue Hose on Friday night, the Tigers will play host to Jacksonville on Sunday, August 22. The game against the Dolphins is scheduled to kick off at 1:00 PM at Riggs Field. This will be the first meeting between Clemson and Jacksonville on the soccer field.
