Clemson Women’s Soccer Team Falls to Alabama in Exhibition Game in Tuscaloosa Sunday Night

Aug. 14, 2011

TUSCALOOSA, AL – The Clemson women’s soccer team fell to Alabama in an exhibition game on Sunday night in Tuscaloosa, AL. The Crimson Tide scored in the 23rd and the 69th minute to defeat the Tigers by a score of 2-0.

“It was good to get a game in,” said Head Coach Eddie Radwanski, whose Tigers played less than 35 minutes of an exhibition game against South Florida on Friday night in Clemson before the game was cancelled due to weather.

“We were able to play a lot of different players and had several good moments, especially in the first half. The best thing to come out of a game like this is that it was a chance to play against an opponent, to simulate a game and put ourselves under pressure. We were able to see what our strengths and weaknesses are. It was a positive learning experience for us as a team and we will now proceed forward and get ready for Friday.”

Clemson will open the 2011 regular season on Friday, August 19 as it plays host to South Carolina State. The season opener will begin at 7:00 PM at Historic Riggs Field. Admission is free for all home women’s soccer games.
