Clemson, SC – The Clemson Women’s Rowing team will play host to the University of Charleston (WV) Golden Eagles on Saturday morning.
The Varsity 8 race begins at 9:00 am and features three of Clemson’s Varsity 8 boats and one Novice 8 boat.
“We have had a great week of practice and are excited to have a race this weekend against Charleston”, said Clemson Head Coach Robbie Tenenbaum. “We are not only going to race the boat from Charleston in each of our races, but there will be some great racing between our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Varsity 8’s and our Novice 8, as well. Our Novice 8 will be making their 2011 debut this weekend and all of these student-athletes are excited to see how they race against other crews. This should prove to be an exiting race between these five boats.”
The Varsity/Novice 4 race begins at 9:20 am and will feature Clemson’s Novice 4 and three Varsity 4 boats verses the University of Charleston Novice 4.
The race will be broadcast live on the web with audio and video coverage from start to finish. There will also be monitors inside Clemson’s boat bay so that people in attendance can watch the first part of the race before seeing the finish live.
“I am really happy that we are able to race 56 student-athletes this weekend. Our team has grown this year, and I am looking forward to watching everyone race this weekend,” Tenenbaum continued.
