May 13, 2011

Clemson, SC – The Clemson Women’s Rowing team will travel to Oak Ridge, TN this weekend to face nine teams in the Oak Ridge Regional on Sunday, May 15th. The Tigers will face Notre Dame, Louisville, Oklahoma, Central Florida, Rhode Island, Tulsa, and ACC foes Virginia, Duke, and Miami.

“This is a great event, and a perfect last regular season race,” said head coach Robbie Tenenbaum. “We saw Virginia, Duke and Miami a few weeks ago at the ACC Championships, but this will be the first time this year we have raced any of the other teams.”

The 1st Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, 1st Varsity 4 and 2nd Varsity 4 will all get points towards each team’s total in this event. The 3rd Varsity 8 will race, but is not a point-scoring event.

“I could not be more proud of how our team has performed this season,” Tenenbaum said. “We are taking things one step at a time, and looking forward to some great competition this weekend. We are hopeful that our performances all season will earn our team another trip to the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships in Sacramento.”
