Clemson Women’s Basketball Signs In-State Standout

Nov. 11, 2005

CLEMSON, SC – Head women’s basketball coach Cristy McKinney has announced that Spartanburg High School star Lele Hardy has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her career as a Lady Tigers. Hardy, from Spartanburg, SC, helped the Spartanburg High School Lady Vikings to a 21-4 record in 2004-05 and is a preseason SCBCA top five player.

“We’re really excited about signing Lele Hardy,” McKinney said. “She can play either the point guard or shooting guard position. She is a great passer and makes other people on the floor with her better.”

Hardy was named to the 2005 South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association All-State team and is also a three-time All-Region II AAAA honoree. She has been the Most Valuable Player of her high school team as a freshman, sophomore and junior, and has already scored over 1,000 points in her career.

Hardy will join the Lady Tigers for the 2006-07 season.
