CLEMSON, SC – The women’s basketball team took time out of their preseason preparations to take part in the “Up Til Dawn” community service project on campus on Thursday. The event was a letter-writing campaign designed to raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The event took place from 9:00 pm until 5:00 am at the Hendrix Student Center this past Thursday night. The players wrote letters, and some coaches jumped in with the band on drums, vocals, and the keyboard. Freshmen Kelia Shelton and Serena Clark then took part in an improvised shooting contest.
The event has raised $2,755 for the cause so far. More than 400 students were involved in the initiative. Clemson opens its regular season on Friday against UNC Greensboro at 5:30 pm in Littlejohn Coliseum.
Fans who would like to get involved can go to the Up Til Dawn Facebook Page.
