Clemson Will Meet College of Charleston Wednesday

CLEMSON, SC– The Clemson men¹s tennis team will play host to the College of Charleston on Wednesday (March 11) afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Clemson campus.

The Tigers are now 6-6 this season and 0-2 in ACC action. The College of Charleston have a 2-5 record overall this spring.

This will be the 33rd meeting between Clemson and the College of Charleston on the tennis courts. Clemson leads the overall series 22-10. The series began on April 14, 1930 as the Cougars were victorious in the first match every played between the two schools 3-2 in Charleston, SC.

The 2009 season marks the 100th year of men¹s tennis at Tigertown. Clemson first sponsored men¹s tennis in 1910 when two Tiger tennis players entered the annual state tournament. The first dual match was played in the 1921 season as the Tigers defeated Wofford 2-0 on April 28, in Spartanburg, SC.
