Some Quick notes:

  • Clemson opens its 33rd season of volleyball with the 20th annual Big Orange Bash
  • Head Coach Jolene Jordan Hoover is in her 18th season as Clemson’s head coach, and her 360 wins as an ACC head coach rank third in ACC history
  • Hoover has a 197-77 record at home in her career, needing just three wins for 200
  • The Tigers are 11-6 in season-openers with Hoover at the helm and 14-3 in home openers, and hold a 25-8 mark in home openers all-time.
  • Clemson was picked to finish 6th in the ACC by the league’s coaches
  • Sandra Adeleye and Alexa Rand were both named to the Preseason All-ACC Team by a vote of the league’s coaches
  • Clemson’s roster is littered with underclassmen. The opening day roster features five freshmen, eight sophomores, and only one junior and one senior.
  • Despite the youth, Clemson returns four of the top five players in terms of kills from last season
  • The Tigers also return four starters (Rand, Patzin, Ozdemir, Adeleye) from last season
  • The three BOB opponents combined to go 38-18 in their respective conferences in 2009
  • Tennessee Tech Volunteer Assistant Coach, Kelsey Murphy, is a 2010 Clemson graduate. Murphy was a three-time All-ACC and AVCA All-Region selection at Clemson. She led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament in each of the past three seasons.
