CONWAY, S.C. – The Clemson volleyball team defeated Wofford 3-0 (30-27, 30-16, 30-19) on Saturday afternoon in Kimbel Arena to capture the Coastal Carolina Classic. With the win, the Tigers improve to 6-5 on the season, while the Terriers fall to 3-4 overall.
The Tigers were led by Ryane Beasley with 16 kills, seven digs and a career- best .636 hitting percentage. Marija Zoric added six kills with a match-high eight blocks (two solo), and Lori Ashton recorded six kills with a .417 hitting percentage. Carly Hill served up a match-best five service aces, and Dawn Robertson handed out 23 assists.
Andrea Duke tallied a match-high 18 kills with 10 digs to lead the Terriers. Katie Sobczyk had 12 kills with a .476 hitting percentage, while Megan Propst and Angela Berry added four kills each. Rhea deJesus had 30 assists, and Lindsey Lyman recorded six digs
Clemson returns to action on Wednesday Sept. 9, as the Tigers travel to Athens, GA to take on the Georgia Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.
