Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (8-1) is coming off of its first loss of the season, 87-59 at the hands of 25th-ranked Oregon on Dec. 12 at Littlejohn Coliseum.
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads the Tigers in scoring (13.7 ppg), assists (3.8 apg) and minutes played (32.4 mpg).
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier leads the team in rebounding (7.9 rpg) and is second in scoring (11.1 ppg).
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards has started all nine games for the Tigers at the point guard position, averaging 3.3 steals per game, good for second most in the ACC and 19th in the nation.
  • Before falling to #25 Oregon on Monday, Clemson won its first eight games of the season, the program’s best start since the 1998-99 season.
  • Thursday night’s game is only the Tigers’ second contest in a true road environment this season. Clemson won at Monmouth on Nov. 19.
  • Clemson has won the turnover battle in every game this season except for one (Oregon) and is currently +5.4 in turnover margin.
  • Clemson Head Coach Audra Smith and South Carolina Head Coach Dawn Staley were college teammates at Virginia (‘89-’92). 

Series Information:

  • Clemson has a 33-28 all-time advantage over South Carolina in the series, but the Gamecocks have won the last six.
  • Last season, South Carolina defeated the Tigers 67-41 on Nov. 18, 2015 in Jervey Gym in Clemson.
