CLEMSON, SC-The Clemson men’s tennis team will play host to USC-Upstate at 9:00 a.m. and Presbyterian at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 6, at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
Clemson has a 2-0 record after recording wins over Gardner-Webb (5-2) and Davidson (7-0) on January 16.
Overall in singles, DiFazio, Rok Bizjak, Galloway, and Bolona all won both of their singles matches against Gardner-Webb and Davidson.
This will be the first meeting ever between Clemson and USC-Upstate in men’s tennis. This will be the 45th meeting between the Tigers and Presbyterian. Clemson leads the overall series 30-14. The series started on April 22, 1926 as the Tigers defeated Presbyterian 4-2 in Clinton, SC. The last match played between the two schools was in the 1999 season. Clemson has won the last 10 meetings played in the series.
The 2010 season marks the 100th year of men’s tennis at Tigertown. Clemson first sponsored men’s tennis in 1910 when two Tiger tennis players entered the annual state tournament.
