Nov. 8, 2001

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson swimming and diving teams will play host to the Florida Gators on Friday afternoon at McHugh Natatorium. Tomorrow’s meet will be the final regular season home meet for the Tigers due to continued renovations to Fike Recreation Center. The first event is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.

Both the Clemson men and women’s teams are coming off victories over Florida State last weekend. The men dominated the Seminoles and won by a score of 156-85 while the women used last event heroics to defeat Florida State by a single point, 122-121. Junior Jenna Burtch led off the women’s 400 freestyle relay and was joined by fellow junior Elise Theiler, and seniors Caroline Peterson and Patty Hider. The relay team faced a must-win situation in order to secure a meet victory and performed well under pressure by earning a first-place finish with a time of 3:27.21.
